With the help of Dashboard neo, you can create ad-hoc dashboards for your survey in no time at all and simply share them via a link. There is virtually no configuration required as the solution automatically recognizes the question types used in your survey and selects the appropriate chart type to visualize the results.

Dashboard neo is a brand new module that we are currently refining for you. So you can look forward to even more great features.

Creating a Dashboard

The Tivian Dashboards neo module is located in the survey menu of your survey project.

Once you have selected it, you will be taken to the Dashboard neo menu. If you have not yet created a dashboard, no data will be displayed here. To create a dashboard for your survey, follow the steps below:

  • Click on the Configuration neo menu item.

  • A list with all questions from your survey will be displayed. Click to select the questions you would like to include in the dashboard (the intro question on the first page does not contain any survey data and therefore cannot be selected).

  • Under Theme, select the desired color scheme for your dashboard. You can currently choose between Tivian (purple), Neutral and Red-green diverging.

  • Click on Create dashboard.

Your dashboard will be immediately created and is displayed in the Dashboard neo menu.

Question types that Dashboard neo does not support are displayed in the question list, but cannot be selected. The module provides support for the following question types:

Single response (111,112,113, 131, 132), Multiple response (121, 122), Matrix (311, 312, 341), Checkbox matrix (362), Linked slider (143), Ranking (411), Text field (single row) (141), Text area (142), Multi text field (143, 144).

Configuring Filters

As soon as you have created a dashboard, you can also configure filters for it. To do this, proceed as follows:

  • Switch to the Configuration neo menu again.

  • Select the Filter tab.

  • You can now select the variables that you want to define as filters. All survey variables are available for selection under Survey variables. For personalized surveys, you can also select participant variables as filters so that you can filter by gender in the dashboard, for example.

  • Click Save at the bottom right.

Adding the Filter in the Dashboard

Once you have configured a filter in the Configuration neo menu, you can add it to the dashboard:

  • Switch to the Dashboard neo menu.

  • Click on Add filter in the top area.

  • From the drop-down menu, select the variable you selected in the previous step – for example, a question or participant variable.

  • Then select the filter criterion from the drop-down menu below, for example a specific answer to the previously selected question or the gender of the participants.

  • Click on Apply.

  • As soon as a filter has been applied, it is displayed above the Add filter option. If you want to remove it again, simply click on the purple X symbol.
