The three drop-down menus System Menu, Support Menu, and User Menu are located in the menu bar (upper right corner). The System menu provides you with the items Users, Libraries, and Options.


The support menu includes video tutorials to help you get started with EFS, a link to online documentation, a support contact option, and a feedback feature. You can also find out more about data protection and the GDPR under this menu item. You can use the User menu to edit your own account and personal settings. Use this menu to log out.

You can access EFS tutorials and the online documentation link directly from the Support menu. Furthermore links to the support request and the feedback function are deposited here.

The Support request will let you post support requests directly to our support center. 

  • The user‘s name and e-mail address are inserted by default
  • Add a subject and your message.
  • You may attach a file to your support request.
  • Click Submit.

 The User menu

To make personal settings (such as language, time zone, etc.) in Survey, click on the User menu and select the Personal preferences menu item.


The menu UserOwn user account can be used to view and change the data and settings of your own account. You can also access the menu by clicking on your UsernameEdit account (top right hand corner).

  • Use the menu item User data to update your address data and to change the security question.
  • Use the menu item Password to change your own password.

The following settings may be adjusted:

Common settings

  • Language
  • Standard character set
  • Save last entries in search screen
  • Time zone
  • Standard directory for SAS exports and SAS library
  • Size of preview window
  • Separators (commas vs semicolon in exports)

  • Standrad character set

  • Determine participant‘s host name and IP address

You will be able to set the time zone. The entire software will relate to. In the Options menu > Personal Settings > Common Settings you may choose a time zone by selecting it on the map or letting the software determine your time zone automatically on clicking the respective button (Detect time zone).

  • Time zone settings will be employed throughout the entire software.
  • Data export and service layer will continue to refer to UTC/GMT for technical reasons.
